We are right in the middle of this years mango season and I am lucky to be in one of the best countries in the world for mangoes. Vietnam.
Originating from India and Burma the mango is now cultivated on most tropical countries on the planet.
Mango is rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and Beta carotene and other antioxidants. That’s where it gets it rich colors from. The green mango has not yet developed as many antioxidants as the red and yellow ones.
Mango is also good if you are having troubles with digestion. And can give you a feeling of fullness. Many people use mango as a part of their daily diet trying to loose weight.
I have tried different types of mangoes on my travels and I really like the sweet mango from the Philippines and the Vietnamese mangoes. Philippines are known all over the world for its sweetness and are sold to many royal courts. Veitnamese mangoes are not far behind. I have not yet been to India, where the mango originates from. I am sure they will be just as amazing. I love mango!
