Bananas are not just for monkeys, Bananas makes you happy!

Bananas has been around for centuries. Once native to Indomalaya and Australia and then first cultivated in Papa New Guinea it is ranked as a berry and not a fruit. And although most would say that banana grows on trees it actually comes from a  tree-like herb.

Many eat bananas before or after a work out. I never really gave it much thought other than that it is a handy fruit to have in the bag and easily eaten after being at the gym.

But bananas are not just for monkeys. Apparently bananas are a high achiever and can really improve your health.

A banana has high levels of potassium and fiber which helps your body against high blood pressure. The B6 vitamin helps you sleep better at night. And it also contains something called tryptophan which is serotonin and mood regulating to your body. So bananas makes you happy.
Magnesium helps relax muscles and bananas have plenty of that too.

As I mentioned above, bananas have a large level of dietary fibers which helps your body sustain blood sugar levels during a workout. But also helps you if you are trying to loose weight.

Some say bananas are high in calcium that keeps your skeleton strong. But there are not any high levels recorded. The vitamin A however helps your eye sight.

So bananas are not just for monkeys. They can make you improve your health and keep you happy. But keep in mind that over eating fruit is not good for either humans or monkeys as they can cause headaches and sleepiness. Especially over ripe bananas.
If you eat more than 15 or more bananas a day your teeth might become bad and you might risk getting muscle weakness.

But eat your bananas (in moderate amount) they are good for you. Good thing they are one of the most cultivated “fruits” around.
